45. Oil Pan Installation

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the oil pump strainer and a new O-ring to the lower cylinder block. Secure the oil pump strainer using two bolts.
Tighten the oil pump strainer to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.)





2. Apply a continuous bead of silicon sealant GM P/N 12346240 or an equivalent, to the engine oil pan mating surface.
3. Install the engine oil pan.
Use the following components to secure the engine oil pan:
^ Fourteen bolts
^ Two nuts
Tighten the engine oil pan bolts and the nuts to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.)





4. Install the engine oil drain plug and the gasket.
Tighten Tighten the engine oil drain plug to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)
