Engine Oil Dip Stick - Dip Stick Tube: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the oil level indicator from the guide tube.
2. Remove the one retaining bolt and guide tube (1) from the cylinder block.
3. Remove the guide tube seal (3) from the cylinder block.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the new guide tube seal (3) to the cylinder block.
2. Install the guide tube (1) to the cylinder block.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Secure the guide tube with one bolt.
Tighten the guide tube bolt to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.)
4. Install the oil level indicator to the guide tube.
5. Start the engine and check for engine oil leaks around the guide tube.
