Lock Replacement - Front Door Power

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the water deflector.
2. Remove the front window.
3. Remove the 2 screws which secure the rear guide channel (2).
4. Remove the rear guide channel (2) from the vehicle.




5. Disconnect the joint (1). Remove the outside handle rod (2).




6. Remove the following components from the door lock assembly:
^ The inside handle rod
^ The inside lock rod
^ The outside lock rod
7. Disconnect the power door lock electrical connector.
8. Remove the door lock assembly (3) from the door by removing the 5 screws.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the door lock assembly (3) to the door. Secure the lock assembly with the 5 screws.
2. Install the following components to the door lock assembly:
^ The inside handle rod
^ The inside lock rod
^ The outside lock rod




3. Install the outside handle rod (2) to the joint (1) of the outside handle.

IMPORTANT: The door lock may not operate correctly if the push rod play is not within specifications.




4. Check the play of the push rod (1) by operating the outside door handle. If the push rod play is not within specification, repair or replace the defective part.
5. Adjust the push rod play to a range of 0.1-1.5 mm (0.004-0.06 in).
6. Confirm the following actions:
^ The door does not open when the door is locked
^ The door opens when the door is unlocked
7. Install the rear guide channel. Secure the channel with the 2 screws.
8. Install the front window.
9. Install the water deflector.
