DTC 55

DTC 55 Motor Driver Fault Detected:

DTC 55 Motor Driver Fault Detected:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This DTC identifies a malfunction detected by the MDI custom IC. It also ensures the cause of the malfunction is not a result of a malfunction with the enable relay under a DTC A055 failure. The MDI malfunction tests will be run to identify which circuit has failed and may also cause additional DTCs to set to pinpoint the malfunctioning circuit.

FAILURE CONDITION
DTC A055 is set simultaneously with one or more of DTCs A056 through A072.

ACTION TAKEN
A malfunction DTC is stored, ABS is disabled and the ABS indicator lamp is turned "ON."

TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. This insures the DTC AO55 malfunction was not set due to a motor or EMB malfunction.
2. This checks to see if the malfunction is still present.
3. This step insures that DTC A055 was not due to poor terminal contact at the motor pack connector.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
An "Intermittent" malfunction may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation, or a wire that is broken inside the insulation.

The frequency of the malfunction can be checked by using the enhanced diagnostic function of the Tech 1.

Any circuitry, that is suspected as causing the intermittent complaint, should be thoroughly checked for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal to wiring connections or physical damage to the wiring harness.
