Oil Pan ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Drain the engine oil.
2. Remove the front exhaust manifold pipe.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the engine oil level sensor (1).
4. Remove the engine oil level sensor (1) from the oil pan.
5. Remove the oil pan bolts.
Important: The oil pan gasket is reusable unless damaged. Do not remove the gasket from the oil pan groove unless replacement is required.
6. Remove the oil pan.
7. Clean and inspect the oil pan.
Installation Procedure
1. If required, install a new oil pan seal using the following procedure:
1.1. Clean any residual oil from the seal groove.
1.2. Work the seal into the pan groove in both directions around the pan.
2. Position the oil pan to the crankcase.
Oil Pan Tightening Sequence:
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the oil pan retaining bolts.
^ Tighten the oil pan bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) in the sequence shown.
Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the engine oil level sensor (1) into the oil pan.
^ Tighten the engine oil level sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the engine oil level sensor (1).
6. Install the front exhaust manifold pipe.
7. Fill the engine oil.
8. Inspect for oil leaks after engine start up.
