Cruise Control Servo Cable: Service and Repair

CRUISE CONTROL CABLE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the cruise control cable adjuster lock.
2. Rotate the cruise control cable counterclockwise. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module.




3. Remove the cruise control cable from the retainer on the cruise control module bracket.




4. Remove the cruise control cable from the cam pin.
5. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle body bracket.
6. Remove the cruise control cable from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the cruise control cable to the vehicle.
2. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control module.
3. Connect the cruise control cable adjuster lock. Rotate the cruise control cable clockwise.




4. Install the cruise control cable to the retainer on the cruise control module bracket.




5. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control cable throttle bracket.




6. Install the cruise control cable to the cam pin.

IMPORTANT: The cruise control cable does not require mechanical adjusting after the replacement. The cruise control module internally adjusts the cable.

7. Adjust the cruise control cable at the cam pin with the throttle lever closed and pushing down on the clip to lock. The mechanism is spring loaded which will take up the slack automatically.
