AIR Shut-Off Valve Replacement - Bank 1

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the two nuts securing the outlet pipe to the exhaust manifold.




3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Disconnect the bank 1 intermediate pipe/hose from the bank 1 AIR shut-off valve.




5. Remove the vacuum lines connected to the bank 1 AIR shut-off valve.




6. Remove the three nuts securing the AIR shut-off valve to the engine.




7. Remove the AIR shut-off valve from the bank 1 AIR outlet pipe.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the bank 1 AIR shut-off valve with a new gasket to the bank 1 AIR outlet pipe.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the three nuts securing the bank 1 AIR shut-off valve to the engine.

Tighten
Tighten the three nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).




3. Install the vacuum lines.




4. Connect the bank 1 AIR intermediate pipe/hose and clamp to the bank 1 AIR shut-off valve.
5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.




6. Install the two nuts securing the bank 1 AIR outlet pipe to the exhaust manifold.

Tighten
Tighten the two nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

7. Lower the vehicle.
