Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer toSIR Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Position the seat cushion out of the way. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Front (Seat Cushion Replacement - Front) .
3. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .




4. Open the seat back cover J and arrow fasteners (1, 4).
5. Disconnect the double J channel fasteners (5).
6. Disconnect the J channel fasteners (2,3).




7. Disconnect the J channel fastener (1).
8. Remove the inflatable restraint. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - Front in SIR.
9. Remove the head restraint retainers. Refer to Head Restraint Retainer Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Retainer Replacement - Front Seat) .
10. Remove the shoulder belt retractor. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Front in Seat Belts.




11. Remove the seat back cover (2) from the seat back pad (1) and the seat back frame.




12. Remove the seat back pad (2) from the seat back frame (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the seat back pad (2) over the seat back frame (1).




2. Install the seat back cover (2) over the seat back pad (1).
3. Work the foam pad into position so there are no wrinkles or lumps.
4. Ensure the hook and loop fastener on the cover and pad are fully engaged in order to ensure proper fit of the seat back cover.
5. Install the head restraint retainers. Refer to Head Restraint Retainer Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Retainer Replacement - Front Seat) .
6. Install the Inflatable restraint. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - Front in SIR.
7. Install the shoulder belt retractor. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Front in Seat Belts.




8. Connect the J channel fastener (1).




9. Connect the J channel fasteners (2,3).
10. Connect the double J channel fastener (5).
11. Connect the J and arrow fasteners (1,4).
12. Install the head restraint. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .
13. Install the seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Front (Seat Cushion Replacement - Front) .
14. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
