Carpet Replacement - Front
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
3. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor (Console Replacement - Front Floor) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
4. Remove the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar) .
5. Remove the front carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement - Front (Carpet Retainer Replacement - Front) .
6. Remove the front carpet (1).
Installation Procedure
Caution: Any carpet service repair or replacement should be the same thickness, size and location as the original installation in the vehicle or vehicle damage and personal injury could result.
1. Lay the front carpet (1) into the vehicle.
2. Work the front edges of the carpet into place under the instrument panel.
3. Install the floor vent into the floor ducts, if equipped.
4. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor (Console Replacement - Front Floor) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
5. Install the front carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement - Front (Carpet Retainer Replacement - Front)
6. Install the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar) .
7. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
