Fuel Door: Description and Operation
FUEL FILL DOOR DESCRIPTION AND OPERATIONThe fuel door release system contains the following components:
^ The fuel door/trunk release switch
^ The driver's door switch
^ The Driver's Door Module (DDM)
^ The Rear Integration Module (RIM)
^ The rear fuse block
^ The fuel door release relay
^ The fuel door release solenoid
^ The valet switch
The RIM operates the relays when it receives a class 2 message from the DDM. The RIM will then verify that the vehicle is in park before releasing the fuel door.
The valet switch is used as a manual override for the system and must be closed in order for the release systems to work properly.
