Condition
Some customers may comment that the front upper trim panel (shark fin) on the front and/or rear side door does not fit properly. The upper trim panel is loose and creates a gap between the upper trim panel and the inner door.
Cause
This condition may be due to the retainer on the front upper trim panel (shark fin) not having sufficient retention strength.
Correction
A new retainer for the front and rear side door front upper trim panel (shark fin) is now available. Replace the existing retainer with the new retainer, P/N 10408480.
Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door in the Doors sub-section of the Service Manual for the upper trim panel (shark fin) replacement procedures.
Important:
It is important to know that the new retainer, P/N 10408480, can only be used one time. The retainer must be replaced each time the upper trim panel (shark fin) is removed.
