Fuel Cutoff Mode

The PCM has the ability to shut off the fuel injectors completely or selectively when certain conditions are met. This Fuel Cutoff mode allows the powertrain to protect itself from damage and also improve driveability.

The PCM disables the injectors under the following conditions
^ When the ignition is off, in order to prevent engine run-on.
^ When the ignition is on but there is no ignition reference signal, in order to prevent flooding or backfiring.
^ An engine speed above red-line.
^ A vehicle speed above the rated tire speed.
^ During extended high speed closed throttle coastdown, in order to reduce emissions and increase engine braking.

Engine RPM Fuel Cut Off ranges:
^ Park and neutral-6600 RPM
^ Reverse-4000 RPM
^ Drive-6600 RPM
