Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the injector sight shield.




2. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.




3. Remove the 2 TP sensor attaching screws.




4. Remove the TP sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the TP sensor to the throttle body assembly.





NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in General Information.

2. Apply a thread-locking compound on the screws and install the 2 TP sensor attaching screws. Loctite 262(R), GM P/N 1052624, or equivalent should be used.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 in lb)




3. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.




4. Reinstall the injector sight shield.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the TP sensor to the throttle body assembly.





NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in General Information.

2. Apply a thread-locking compound on the screws and install the 2 TP sensor attaching screws. Loctite 262(R), GM P/N 1052624, or equivalent should be used.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 in lb)




3. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.




4. Reinstall the injector sight shield.
