Exhaust Crossover Pipe: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
2. Carefully remove the throttle body air inlet duct and the air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove the exhaust crossover heat shield nuts.
4. Remove the exhaust crossover heat shield.





5. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe bolts.
6. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe.
7. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe seal.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the exhaust crossover pipe seal to the exhaust crossover pipe at the right (rear) exhaust manifold connection.
2. Install the exhaust crossover pipe.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the exhaust crossover pipe bolts.
^ Tighten the exhaust crossover pipe bolts to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the exhaust crossover heat shield.
5. Install the exhaust crossover heat shield nuts.
^ Tighten the exhaust crossover heat shield nuts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
6. Carefully install the throttle body air inlet duct and the air cleaner assembly.
7. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
