Temperature Sensor (Gauge): Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
2. Partially drain the engine coolant from the cooling system.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.





4. Remove the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor from the engine.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor to the engine.
^ Tighten the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





2. Connect the electrical connector to the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
3. Fill the cooling system with"engine coolant.
4. Inspect for leaks.
5. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
