Radiator Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the cooling fan assembly.
2. Drain the engine coolant from the cooling system.
3. Disconnect the coolant recovery hose from the neck of the radiator.
4. Remove the coolant level module from the radiator.
5. Disconnect the inlet hose from the radiator.
6. Disconnect the outlet hose from the radiator.
7. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator.
8. Remove the radiator mounting bracket bolts.
9. Remove the radiator mounting brackets





10. Remove the radiator.
11. Remove the radiator mounts


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Notice: When adding coolant, it is important that you use GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL(R) or HAVOLINE(R) DEX-COOL(R) coolant, If Coolant other than DEX-COOL(R) or HAVOLINE(R) DEX-COOL(R) is added to the system the engine coolant will require change sooner-at 50,000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.





1. Install the radiator mounts.





2. Install the radiator.
3. Install the radiator mounting brackets

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the radiator bracket bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect the transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator.
6. Connect the outlet hose to the radiator.
7. Connect the inlet hose to the radiator.
8. Install the coolant level module to the radiator.
9. Connect the coolant recovery hose to the neck of the radiator.
10. Install the cooling fan assembly.
11. Install the battery.
12. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
13. Inspect for leaks.
