Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the driver side inflator module.
2. Disconnect the ground wire from the left side of the steering wheel.
3. Pry the left switch (1) outward from the front side of the steering wheel. Use a flat bladed tool.
4. Rotate the switch 90 degrees. Feed the switch back through the opening in the steering wheel.
5. Push the steering wheel rear trim cover (4) up and forward in order to gain clearance to the switch wiring. Route the switch wiring between the back side of the steering wheel and the cover.
6. Pry out the right switch (2) from the front side of the steering wheel.
7. Rotate the switch 90 degrees. Feed the switch back through the opening in the steering wheel.
8. Push the steering wheel rear trim cover (4) up and forward in order to gain clearance to the switch wiring. Route the switch wiring between the back side of the steering wheel and the cover.
9. Remove the switch assembly from the steering wheel.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Push the steering wheel rear trim cover (4) up and forward in order to gain clearance to the switch wiring. Route the switch wiring between the back side of the steering wheel and the cover.
2. Feed the right switch (2) from the back side through the opening in the steering wheel.
3. Install the right switch (2 ) into the front side of the steering wheel.
4. Push the steering wheel rear trim cover (4) up and forward in order to gain clearance. Route the switch wires between the back side of the steering wheel and the cover.
5. Feed the left switch (1) from the back side through the opening in the steering wheel.
6. Install the left switch (1) into the front side of the steering wheel.
7. Install the drivers side inflator module.
