Power Steering Pump Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine.
2. Disconnect the following components from the pump (2):
- The power steering gear outlet hose (3)
- The power steering gear inlet hose (1)
3. Remove the mounting bolts (4).
4. Remove the following components from the engine:
- The pump (2)
- The mounting bracket (1)
5. Remove the following components if necessary:
- The transfer pulley (3)
- The bracket
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the pump (2) with the pulley (3) and the bracket (1) to the top of the engine.
2. Install the mounting bolts (4).
3. Connect the following components to the pump (2):
- The power steering gear outlet hose (3)
- The power steering gear inlet hose (1)
- Tighten the power steering gear inlet hose to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine.
5. Fill and bleed the system.
6. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
