Installation Procedure

1. To install the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil:
^ Make sure that the wheels are straight ahead.
^ Align the block tooth and the centering mark on the race and upper shaft assembly (1) at the 12 O'clock position.

Important: Do not depress the lock tab (1) on the back of the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil. The lock tab will automatically disengage when the coil is installed.

2. Make sure that the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil assembly is centered. A new coil assembly will be precentered. If coil assembly centering is required, refer to Inflatable Restraint Coil Centering - Off Vehicle (Column Shift And Floor Shift) in Steering Wheel and Column.
3. Align the coil assembly with the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam assembly.
4. Slide the coil assembly (2) onto the race and upper shaft assembly.
5. Remove the centering tab and discard it.
6. Install the retaining ring (1).
7. Route the lower coil wire harness along the steering column jacket.
8. Install the wire harness straps to the steering wheel column.
9. Install the steering wheel (1).
10. Install the upper and lower shrouds.
11. Install the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module (3). 12. Enable the SIR system.
