Knock Sensor Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the PCM from the vehicle.
2. Remove the two KS Module cover screws and the KS Module cover.




3. Grasp the KS Module tabs with your thumb and finger.
4. Squeeze the tabs together.
5. Pull the KS Module straight up.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Remove the two KS Module cover screws and remove cover (if not previously removed).




2. Hold the KS Module with your thumb and finger.
3. Insert the KS Module straight down into the PCM through the access opening.
4. Press the KS Module firmly into the PCM connector.





IMPORTANT: Ensure there is a good seal between KS Module cover (1) and the PCM (3).

5. Pace the KS Module cover (1) on the PCM (3).
6. Install the two cover screws.

Tighten
Tighten the two cover screws to 5.1 N.m (45 lb in).

7. Install the PCM.
