Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the intake manifold top cover.




2. Remove the solenoid quick-connect hose (3) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid (4).
3. Remove the solenoid quick-connect hose (7) from the EVAP canister purge solenoid (4) to the enhanced [1][2]EVAP service port (8).
4. Remove the electrical connector (6) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
5. Remove the EVAP canister purge (2) solenoid valve bolt.
6. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid tab from the bracket (5).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (4) to the bracket (5).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the EVAP canister purge (2) solenoid valve bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

3. Install the solenoid quick-connect hose (3) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
4. Install the solenoid quick-connect hose (7) from the EVAP canister purge solenoid to the enhanced [1][2]EVAP service point.
5. Install the electrical connector (6) to the EVAP canister purge solenoid.




6. Install the intake manifold top cover.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
