Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURETOOLS REQUIRED

CAUTION:
^ In order to Reduce the Risk of Personal Injury: Always allow for proper ventilation when working with fuel in enclosed areas.
^ Always wear safety goggles when working with fuel in order to protect the eyes from fuel splash.
1. Relieve the fuel system fuel pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Drain the fuel tank to at least 3/4 of a tank full. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining Procedure.
3. Remove the spare tire cover, the jack, and the spare tire.
4. Remove the rear compartment floor trim.
5. Remove the fuel sender access panel bolts.
6. Remove the fuel sender access panel.
7. Remove the electrical connector at the fuel tank pressure sensor.
8. Remove the clip from the fuel tank pressure sensor.
9. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor (1) from the modular fuel sender.
10. Clean the fuel sender assembly O-ring sealing surfaces.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the clip to the fuel tank pressure sensor.
2. Install the electrical connector at the fuel tank pressure sensor.
3. Install the negative battery cable.
4. Inspect for leaks.
4.1. Turn the ignition switch to the On position for 2 seconds.
4.2. Turn the ignition switch to the off for 10 seconds.
4.3. Turn the ignition switch to the On position.
4.4. Check for fuel leaks.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the fuel sender access panel.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel sender access panel bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
6. Install the rear compartment floor trim.
7. Install the spare tire, the jack, and the spare tire cover.
8. Add fuel and install the fuel tank filler pipe cap (1).
