56. Water Crossover Clean and Inspect
CLEANING1. Clean the water crossover in solvent.
Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.
2. Dry the water crossover with compressed air. Inspection
1. Inspect the water crossover for corrosion or damage to the gasket sealing surfaces.
2. Inspect the water crossover for the following:
^ Corrosion or damage to the seal/gasket sealing surfaces for the following:
^ EGR valve
^ EGR inlet pipe
^ EGR outlet pipe
^ Corrosion or damage to the threads for the following connections:
^ EGR valve studs
^ EGR inlet pipe bolt
^ EGR outlet pipe bolt
^ Corrosion or damage to the throttle body heater pipe
^ Corrosion or damage to the fastener bosses
^ Corrosion or damage to the radiator hose outlet
^ Corrosion or damage to the heater hose outlet fitting
^ Corrosion or restrictions within the engine coolant passages
^ Corrosion or restrictions within the EGR passages
3. Repair or replace the water crossover as necessary.
