Rear Window Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
Tools Required
^ Adhesive Kit GM P/N 12346284 or equivalent
^ J 24402-A J 24402-A Glass Sealant Remover (Cold Knife), or equivalent

CAUTION:
^ When replacing stationary windows, Urethane Adhesive Kit GM P/N 12346284, or a urethane adhesive system meeting GM Specification GM3651M, must be used to maintain original installation integrity. Failure to use the urethane adhesive kit will result in poor retention of the window which may allow unrestrained occupants to be ejected from the vehicle resulting in personal injury.
^ When working with any type of glass, use approved safety glasses and gloves to reduce the chance of personal injury.
^ At least 24 hours are required for complete curing of repair material The repair area should not be physically disturbed until after that time. Insufficient curing of urethane adhesive may allow unrestrained occupants to be ejected from the vehicle resulting in personal injury.

IMPORTANT: When damaged sheet metal has been repaired and the window opening needs to be repainted, the bonding area should be a primer surface only, and not an aftermarket top coated (paint, or color coated) surface. Materials such as (BASF DE17), (DUPONT 2610) or (PPG DP40) or equivalent are appropriate for this application.

Window Prep Primer (Clear Number 1) etches the window. Care should be taken when applying to prevent the Window Prep Primer from running into the vision area.

Partially lower a window to prevent pressure build ups when closing doors prior to urethane adhesive cure.
