Troubleshooting Hints - Brake Transaxle Shift Interlock

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check TMNSS FUSE in IP Fuse Block by visual inspection.
2. Visually inspect stoplamp/BTSI switch connector and associated wiring.
3. Before component replacement, check for poor terminal contact at component and harness connectors.
4. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
5. Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. Refer to Troubleshooting Procedures. Diagnostic Aids
