Front Suspension

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
The rear (horizontal) control bushing is serviced with the control arm and cannot be serviced separately.

^ Tools Required:
- J 21474-4 Nut
- J 21474-5 Bushing Receiver
- J 21474- 13 Bushing Installer
- J 21474-27 Bolt Assembly
- J 41014-1 Bushing Remover

1. Remove the control arm from the vehicle. Refer to LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT.





2. Assemble the bushing tools following this procedure:
2.1. Assemble the J 21474-27 with a washer through the J 21474-5 with the larger diameter end over the bushing against the control arm.
2.2. Lubricate the bolt threads with a high pressure lubricant.
2.3. Install the J 41014-1 (large end facing the bushing), thrust bearing and the J 21474-4 onto the J 21474-27.
3. Tighten the nut until the bushing (1) is driven out of the control arm (2).
4. Remove the bushing tools.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the start bushing into the control arm.





2. Assemble the bushing tool using the following procedure.
2.1. Assemble the J 21474-27 with a washer through the J 21474-5 with the larger diameter end over the bushing against the control arm.
2.2. Lubricate the bolt threads with a high pressure lubricant.
2.3. Install the J 21474-13 (large end facing bushing), thrust bearing and J 21474-4 onto the J 21474-27.
3. Tighten the bolt until the bushing (1) is fully seated into the control arm (2).
4. Remove the bushing tools.
5. Connect the control arm to the frame. Refer to LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT.
