Circuit Operation
Retained Accessory Power (RAP) allows the radio, power windows and sunroof (if equipped) to be operated for approximately 10 minutes after turning the ignition switch to OFF.Battery voltage is applied at all times from RH Rear Junction Block I/P 1 Fuse to the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) Module. When the ignition switch is turned to ACCY or RUN, voltage is applied from IP Fuse Block WSW Fuse to the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) Module. When the ignition switch is turned to OFF, the RFA module senses this and energizes the RAP Relay by grounding RAP Relay terminal B7. With the RAP relay energized, battery voltage from the RH Rear Junction Block IGN 1 Fuse is applied to power the accessories. The accessories operate for approximately 10 minutes or until any door is opened. If any door is opened, the RFA module deenergizes the RAP Relay by removing ground from the RAP Relay terminal B7, removing power from the accessories. The 10-minute time interval can be reset by turning the ignition switch to RUN, then back to OFF.
