Troubleshooting Hints

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check battery power and ignition power fuses, if open check for a short to ground.
2. If more than one function is out, check common power and ground inputs.
3. Before component replacement, check for poor terminal contact at component and harness connectors.
4. Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove good in a continuity/voltage check. Refer to Troubleshooting Procedures.
5. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may effect the integrity of other systems. Refer to Troubleshooting Procedures. Diagnostic Aids
6. Check for PCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes, if any DTC are set current, refer to Engine Controls. Computers and Control Systems
