Compressor and/or Mounting Brackets

Compressor Mounting:

Tool Required:
J 39500 Air Conditioning Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging (ACR4) System

Remove or Disconnect

1. Recover refrigerant from A/C system.
2. Accessory drive belt.
3. Raise vehicle on hoist.
4. Electrical connectors.
5. A/C compressor hose from compressor.
6. Bolts from compressor and engine block. (Leaving bracket attached to compressor.).
7. Compressor.

Install or Connect

1. Compressor with bolts.
2. Mounting bolt and torque all bolts to specification.

Tighten
^ Rear bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb. ft.).
^ Front bolts to 45 N.m (89 lb. ft.).
^ Rear mounting stud 45 N.m (89 lb. ft.).
^ Rear mounting nut to 25 N.m (18 lb. ft.).

3. A/C compressor hose to compressor.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 26 N.m (19 lb. ft.).

4. Electrical connections to compressor.
5. Lower vehicle.
6. Accessory drive belt.
7. Evacuate, charge and leak test A/C system.
