Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURECAUTION: An electric fan under the hood can start up even when the engine is not running and can Injure you. Keep hands, clothing and tools away from any underhood electric fan.
CAUTION: To help avoid personal Injury or damage to the vehicle, a bent, cracked, or damaged fan blade or housing should always be replaced.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the motor and the fan frame.
3. Remove the fan guard and the hose support as needed.
4. Remove the fan assembly from the radiator support.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the fan assembly to the radiator support.
2. Tighten the bolts to specifications.
3. Connect the wiring harnesses to the fan motors.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
