Electromagnetic Interference

ABS components are sensitive to Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
Perform the following checks if an intermittent malfunction is suspected:
^ Check for proper installation of the wiring harnesses resulting from add-on options.
^ Visually inspect the wheel speed sensor and the toothed ring for the following conditions:

- Looseness
- Damage (Replace any damaged components)
- Foreign material accumulation (Remove any foreign material)
- Proper mounting (Properly attach all of the components).

^ Check for proper routing of the front wheel speed sensor wiring near the spark plug wires.
^ Use the DMM J 39200 in order to measure the resistance of the spark plug wires.
If the displays J 39200 Infinite or greater than 30,000 ohms for any wire, replace the spark plug wires.
^ While test driving the vehicle, monitor the Scan Tool wheel speeds. If any wheel speed drops or becomes erratic, refer to the appropriate wheel speed DTC.
