Alarm Module: Service and Repair

When replacing the PASS-Key II theft deterrent module it is not necessary to match the replacement PASS-Key II theft deterrent module to the current ignition key. The replacement PASS-Key II theft deterrent module learns the current ignition key code (resistance value) when the ignition switch is turned to RUN. The module learns the ignition key code only once.

Important
^ The ignition key code is learned permanently, so caution must be used to ensure that a unwanted key code is not learned.

If a fault is detected in the system wiring, a defective key is used, or the replacement module does not learn the ignition key code the SECURITY indicator flashes when the ignition switch is in RUN position.
