DESCRIPTION
The 4T80-E transaxle Fig. 2, is a fully automatic electronically controlled transaxle. It has four forward ranges, including overdrive. Two shift solenoids, operated by the PCM, control shift points. Oil pressure is supplied by three gear type oil pumps and regulated by a transaxle pressure control solenoid (force motor) which is controlled by the PCM. Shift schedule and TCC apply rates, which are influenced by many sensor inputs, are controlled by the PCM.
