Mode F2: Diagnostic Trouble Codes

In this mode, the TECH 1 displays diagnostic trouble codes stored in the EBCM. The EBCM can store up to three different diagnostic trouble codes. The TECH 1 can also clear diagnostic trouble codes when in this mode.

When this mode is accessed, diagnostic trouble codes are displayed, with a three second interval between each diagnostic trouble code displayed. When each diagnostic trouble code is displayed, it will be accompanied by a brief description of what it represents.

After displaying diagnostic trouble codes, the TECH 1 can be ordered to clear any diagnostic trouble codes stored in the EBCM. The TECH 1 will respond to a clear diagnostic trouble codes command by displaying either an "ABS CODES CLEARED" or "CODES CLEAR FAIL" on the screen.

The EBCM stores other information about diagnostic trouble codes which may prove useful in diagnosis procedure. This function is called "ENHANCED DIAGNOSTIC DATA." The TECH 1 can be ordered to display any of the following "ENHANCED DIAGNOSTIC DATA:"
1. Brake Switch Status, indicates whether brake light switch was ON or OFF when diagnostic trouble code was set.
2. ABS State, indicates whether or not anti-lock mode was engaged when diagnostic trouble code was set.
3. Vehicle Speed, indicates vehicle speed when diagnostic trouble code was set.
4. Ignition Cycles, indicates how many ignition cycles have occurred since diagnostic trouble code was set.
