Trunk / Liftgate: Description and Operation
Voltage is applied from the rear fuse block F/DR REL fuse to the trunk lid release relay, and to the trunk lid release switch. When the valet switch is ON, pressing the trunk lid release switch applies voltage directly to the trunk lid release actuator, releasing the trunk lid. The relay can also be actuated, regardless of the valet switch position, using the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) transmitter. The RFA module provides a ground path to actuate the relay when the trunk lid release button on the RFA transmitter is pressed. Voltage is applied through the relay to the trunk lid release actuator, releasing the trunk lid.The trunk lid release actuator is protected by a diode for surge protection and a positive temperature coefficient device for voltage protection.
