Door Trim Lace - Poor Retention

Reduced Retention of the Door Trim Lace to the Pinchweld Flange (Replace Clips)

Models:
1995-96 Buick Riviera
1995-96 Oldsmobile Aurora

Condition

Some of the above listed vehicles may exhibit reduced retention of the door trim lace to the pinchweld flange.

Cause

Trim lace channel is not tight enough to maintain a secure fit. Trim lace will tend to fall over time.

Correction

Replace clips as follows:

1. Place clips, P/N 12371796, inside lace carrier section and reinstall the lace.

2. Clips will only fit on the two metal thickness areas.

3. Buick Riviera requires 3 clips, Oldsmobile Aurora requires 2 clips (per lace).

4. Clip locations:

Buick - 180 mm (7 inches), 390 mm (15.35 inches), 600 mm (23.62 inches) from rear of lace.

Oldsmobile (Front Door) - 100 mm (3.9 inches), 310 mm (12.1 inches) from rear of lace.

Oldsmobile (Rear Door) - 390 mm (15.35 inches), 600 mm (23.62 inches) from rear of lace.
