Door Handle Discoloration in the Key Cylinder Opening (Replace the Door Handle)

Models:
1995 Buick Riviera
1995 Oldsmobile Aurora (vehicles built prior to March 1, 1995)

CONDITION
Some owners may comment that the door handle is discolored around the key cylinder opening.

CAUSE
Grease from key cylinder gasket migrates into paint clearcoat during production.

CORRECTION

REPLACE the door handle. DO NOT REPAINT A DISCOLORED HANDLE.

Repair procedure

Following procedures in the Service Manual, remove the door handle and replace with a new door handle of the same color.

Important:
When assembling the door handle and lock cylinder, remove any excess grease from the lock cylinder face. This is to prevent the door handle from discoloring.
