Throttle Body: Description and Operation

Throttle Body Assembly:

DESCRIPTION
The throttle body contains a single throttle valve which controls the amount of air delivered to the engine. The throttle body contains vacuum ports located above the throttle valve. These ports provide vacuum to the EVAP solenoid, cruise control servo, and vacuum reservoir. A coolant passage under the throttle valve heats the throttle body and reduces the potential for deposit buildup in throttle body.

The Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Idle Speed Control (ISC) actuator and bracket are mounted on the throttle body. The TP sensor and minimum air stop are not adjustable.
