Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights

TRY FOLLOWING CHECKS.
1. If Courtesy Lamps, Luggage Compartment Lamp, Vanity Mirrors and Dome Lamps do not work, check Rear Fuse Block INTR LP Fuse.
2. If only one interior lamp does not operate, check bulb, socket and related wiring.
3. If I/P Compartment Lamps or Console Lamp (Oldsmobile only) do not light, check I/P Fuse Block Chime Fuse.
4. If Auxiliary Power Receptacles do not operate, check I/P Fuse Block AUX PWR Fuse.
5. If Front Cigar Lighters or Rear Cigar Lighters (Oldsmobile only) do not operate, check I/P Fuse Block C/LTR Fuse. Also, if Cigar Lighters do not operate, check for corrosion or element damage. Check for voltage at socket with a test lamp. If test lamp lights, replace cigar lighter.
6. If interior lights do not turn off, check WHT (156) wiring for a short to ground.
7. If interior lamps light when a door is opened, but not when the Panel Dimming Switch is operated, Check WHT (156) and BLK (150) wiring for an open; if OK, replace Panel Dimming Switch.
8. If interior lamps light when the Panel Dimming Switch is operated, but not when a door is opened, check DK BLU (49) and BLK/WHT (151) wiring for an open; if all OK, replace suspect door switch.
9. Before component replacement, check for poor connections at related component and in-line harness connector terminal connections.
