Troubleshooting Hints - Exterior Lights
TRY THE FOLLOWING CHECKS BEFORE DOING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS.1. If Turn Lamps and Cornering Lamps don't work, check I/P Fuse Block Turn Lamps Fuse.
2. If Stoplamps and Hazard Lamps don't work, check Rear Fuse Block Hazard/Stop Fuse.
3. If one of the Turn Indicators goes on when the Park Lamps are turned on, check Front Park/Turn Lamp on that side.
4. For any of the following symptoms, replace the Turn/Hazard Switch.
^ Some Turn Lamps work and all Hazard Lamps work.
^ Some Hazard Lamps work and all Turn Lamps work.
^ Hazard Lamps do not turn off.
5. If Turn Indicator and Front Park/Turn Lamp on one side are inoperative, check in-line Connector C202 (terminal A4) for proper terminal contact. Replace Turn/Hazard Switch if necessary.
6. If Turn Lamps stay on (do not flash) in both left turn and right turn, replace Turn Flasher.
7. If Hazard Lamps stay on (do not flash) in HAZARD, replace Hazard Flasher.
8. If a Turn Indicator does not light, but turn signals work, check bulb, connections, and wiring to indicator.
9. If Park, Side Marker, and Tail Lamps do not work, check Rear Fuse Block Park Lamp Fuse ORN/BLK (240) and BRN (9) wiring and Head/Park Lamp Switch for an open. Also check I/P Fuse Block INT LP, RH EXT LP and LH EXT LP Fuses, and related wires.
10. If only one light does not operate, check bulb, socket, and related wiring (see schematic).
11. If Stoplamps do not turn off, adjust or replace Stoplamp Switch.
12. If Center High Mounted Stoplamp does not work, check bulb, WHT (17) and/or BLU (17), and BLK (1050) wiring for an open. Repair or replace as necessary.
13. If no rear lamps work (except Center High Mounted Stoplamp), check that the ground points are clean and tight.
14. Before component replacement, check for poor connections at related component and in-line harness connector terminal connections.
