Troubleshooting Hints

TRY THE FOLLOWING CHECKS BEFORE DOING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS.
1. Check Rear Fuse Block Fuse "TRUNK REL" (Buick), "F/DR REL" (Olds).
2. Visually inspect Luggage Compartment Release Actuator connector and associated wiring.
3. Check that Valet Switch is "ON."
4. Note that the Buick Luggage Compartment Release Actuator receives power from the Luggage Compartment Lid Release Relay only. The Oldsmobile Luggage Compartment Lid Release Actuator receives power from the relay and also directly from the Luggage Compartment Lid Release Switch via BLK (1576), the Valet Switch, and BLK/WHT (56).
5. Buick Only Check that the Gear Selector Lever is in "PARK."
6. Oldsmobile Only - If the Luggage Compartment does not open using both the Portable Transmitter and the Luggage Compartment Lid Release Switch, check BLK/WHT (56) from S402 to the actuator, the actuator itself, and BLK (1050), including G302.
