PASS-Key II System

PASS-KEY II DECODER MODULE

The PASS-Key II Decoder module is located next to the Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module (DERM) attached to the DERM mounting bracket.

Below I/P, RH Side, DERM Area:






CAUTION: The following procedures must be followed in the order listed to temporarily disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system and prevent false diagnostic trouble codes from setting. Failure to follow this procedure could result in possible air bag deployment, personal injury, or otherwise unneeded SIR system repairs.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Disable SIR system, refer to "Disabling the Driver/Passenger Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System". Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

2. Sound insulator-RH, refer to Instrument Panel.

3. Loosen nuts holding DERM mounting bracket(as necessary).

4. PASS-Key II(R) module from DERM mounting bracket by sliding toward hood of vehicle.

5. Electrical connector.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Electrical connector.

2. PASS-Key II module by sliding into mounting bracket.

Tighten

3. Nuts to 9.5 N.m (84 lb. in.)

4. Sound insulator-RH, refer to Instrument Panel.

5. Enable SIR System, refer to "Enabling the Driver/Passenger Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System". Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming
