DTC 66
Cruise Control System Circuit:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This DTC will set if engine speed exceeds 6350 RPM. This may occur on slippery pavement extended wide open throttle acceleration, or for some mechanical problems (such as transaxle slippage). Under these conditions DTC 66 will set and should be considered normal. The driver should be advised why the cruise disengaged. Clear the DTC and road test vehicle to verify normal operation.
DTC 66 WILL SET WHEN
- Engine speed 6350 RPM or greater for 0.5 second.
- Cruise control enabled and engaged.
ACTION TAKEN (PCM WILL DEFAULT TO)
- The PCM will not allow cruise control operation with a current DTC 66 set.
- DTC 66 does not illuminate the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (Service Engine Soon).
DTC 66 WILL CLEAR WHEN
The fault no longer exists and the ignition switch is cycled "OFF" and "ON."
