DTC 64

Cruise Control System Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The PCM test checks the cruise control system for sudden rapid vehicle acceleration such as a wheelspin DTC 64 will set and as a protective measure the cruise control will be disengaged.

DTC 64 WILL SET WHEN
- Cruise control engaged.
OR
- Vehicle speed increases more than 16 mph in 1 second.

ACTION TAKEN (PCM WILL DEFAULT TO)
- The PCM will not allow cruise control operation with a current DTC 64 set.
- DTC 64 does not illuminate the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (Service Engine Soon).

DTC 64 WILL CLEAR WHEN
The fault no longer exists and the ignition switch is cycled "OFF" and ON
