DTC 110

DCT 110 Chart:

Generator Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors the voltage level on CKT 225 while it is commanding the generator "ON" and expects to see approximately "B +". If the PCM monitors a low voltage level on CKT 225 indicating that the generator is turned "OFF," the PCM will set DTC 110.

DTC 110 WILL SET WHEN
- Engine is running.
- PCM commanding generator "ON."
- Voltage on CKT 225 is low, indicating generator is actually "OFF."
- Above conditions for over 15 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN (PCM WILL DEFAULT TO)
DTC 110 set, the PCM will illuminate the low voltage warning lamp. DTC 110 does not illuminate the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (Service Engine Soon). The DTC will display "Check Charge System."

DTC 110 WILL CLEAR WHEN
The fault no longer exists.

DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.

1. Checking PCM ability to cycle the generator control output. If voltage cycles, replace the battery.
2. Checking if CKT 225 is open or short to ground or if the PCM is bad.
3. Checking voltage between harness connector terminal "S" and ground for high resistance. The voltages should be within 1 volt of each other

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
DTC 110 and a low battery charge condition may be caused by a generator fault, such as a shorted output diode, malfunctioning regulator, open or shorted rotor, or open sense lead.
