DTC 106
TCC System Circuit:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This diagnostic test functions on the assumption that a sudden decrease in vehicle speed must be accompanied by a brake application. If there is a substantial decrease in vehicle speed and a transition on Torque Converter Control (TCC) or Exended Travel Brake switch is noticed without a transition on Brake Light Switch (BLS), then the BLS is considered failed.
DTC 106 WILL SET WHEN
- No DTC(s) 33, 9O, 133 or 137.
- Traction control or ABS is not disabled.
ACTION TAKEN (PCM WILL DEFAULT TO)
DTC 106 does not illuminate the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (Service Engine Soon). DTC 106 Will Clear When: The fault no longer exists.
DTC 106 indicates that a fault in the Brake Light Switch (BLS) circuit has occurred.
If DTC(s) 133 and 137 are also set, diagnose those codes first.
