TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR SELF-DIAGNOSTIC ITEMS

NOTE:
The Signal Tech II Tool (J-50190) can be used to perform the following functions. Refer to the Signal Tech II
User Guide for additional information.
- Activate and display TPMS transmitter IDs
- Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS transmitter
- Read TPMS DTCs
- Register TPMS transmitter IDs

MALFUNCTION CODE NO. 52 (DTC C1729)


1. SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULT CHECK

Using CONSULT, check display contents in self-diagnostic results.
Is " CAN COMM CIRCUIT" displayed in the self-diagnosis display items?
YES- Malfunction in CAN communication system. GO TO Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
NO- GO TO 2.

2. CHECK BCM

Perform BCM diagnosis. CONSULT Function.
Inspection results OK?
OK- Perform Vehicle Speed Sensor Inspection. Refer to P0500 (M/T MODELS) or P0500 (EXCEPT
FOR M/T MODELS).
NG- Replace BCM. Service and Repair.
