REAR SUSPENSION BEAM
Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1.Remove the rear wheel and tire assemblies using power tool.
2.On non-SE-R vehicles, remove rear drum and brake assembly. Removal And Installation.
3.On SE-R vehicles, remove the rear disc and brake caliper assembly. Then hang brake caliper using wire.

4.Separate parking brake rear cable from rear brake and rear suspension beam. Removal And Installation.
5.Remove wheel sensor and wheel sensor harness from wheel hub and bearing assembly and rear suspension beam, if equipped. Wheel Sensor.
6.On non-SE-R vehicles, remove rear brake tube from the wheel cylinder. Rear.
7.Remove wheel hub and bearing assembly and back plate. Procedures.
8.Set jack under rear suspension beam.
9.Remove both shock absorber lower bolts (A). Rear Suspension.
10.Remove coil springs (left/right). Rear Coil Spring.
11.Remove brake line retaining clip and disconnect the brake line from the rear suspension beam bracket.
12.Remove center exhaust pipe assembly and insulator. Refer to
Removal And Installation (MR-20DE), Removal And Installation (QR-25DE).
13.Remove rear suspension beam bolt and nut. Rear Suspension Assembly.
14.Gradually lower the jack to remove rear suspension beam from vehicle.
INSPECTION AFTER REMOVAL
Check components for deformation, cracks, and other damage, and replace if necessary.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal. For tightening torque, Rear Suspension Assembly.
- Tighten the wheel nuts to specification. Adjustment.
- Perform final tightening of rear suspension beam (A) under unladen conditions with tires on level ground.
- Refill with new brake fluid and bleed air. Service and Repair.
Check the following after finishing repair:
- Parking brake operation (stroke). Adjustments.
- Wheel sensor harness for proper connection. Wheel Sensor.
