REAR DRUM BRAKE

Removal and Installation of Wheel Cylinder


WARNING:
Clean dust with a vacuum dust collector to minimize the hazard of air borne particles or other materials.

CAUTION:
- While removing brake shoes, do not depress brake pedal because wheel cylinder pistons will pop out.
- It is not necessary to disconnect brake tube except for disassembly or replacement of wheel cylinder assembly.
- Keep drum and shoes free from brake fluid and grease.
NOTE:
When removing components such as hoses, tubes/lines, etc., cap or plug openings to prevent fluid from spilling.

REMOVAL

1.Remove the rear drum brake assembly. Removal And Installation.
2.Disconnect the brake tube from the wheel cylinder.
NOTE:
Cap or plug opening(s) to prevent fluid from spilling.
3.Remove the wheel cylinder bolts, and then remove wheel cylinder from the back plate.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
- Tighten bolts to the specified torque. Component.
- Bleed the brake system. Service and Repair.
