Preliminary Check
NOTE:
The Signal Tech II Tool (J-50190) can be used to perform the following functions. Refer to the Signal Tech II
User Guide for additional information.
- Activate and display TPMS transmitter IDs
- Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS transmitter
- Read TPMS DTCs
- Register TPMS transmitter IDs
1. CHECK ALL TIRE PRESSURES
Check all tire pressures. Specifications.
Do tire pressures match specifications?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- Adjust tire pressure to specified value.
2. CHECK LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LAMP ACTIVATION
Check low tire pressure warning lamp activation.
Does warning lamp activate for 1 second when ignition switch is turned ON?
YES- GO TO 3.
NO- GO TO "Low Tire Pressure Warning Lamp Does Not Come On When Ignition Switch Is Turned On".
3. CHECK BCM CONNECTOR
1.Disconnect BCM harness connector.
2.Check terminals for damage or loose connection.
3.Reconnect harness connector.
Are BCM connectors damaged or loose?
YES- Repair or replace damaged parts.
NO- GO TO 4.
4. CHECK TRANSMITTER ACTIVATION TOOL
Check transmitter activation tool battery.
Is transmitter activation tool battery fully charged?
YES- Carry out self-diagnosis.
NO- Replace battery in transmitter activation tool.
